Koda

Koda’s DOB is 6/28/24.   He is neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention.   He is a big, lovable goofball.   He loves to play fetch.    He would do well in a home with another dog around his age, size and energy level.    He loves to play, but because he is still a puppy – tends to aggravate older dogs once they are through playing and Koda isn’t!    He would also do well as an only dog if he wasn’t left alone for a normal work day.    He is housetrained to a doggie door. We were told he was crate trained as well when we took him into rescue.   Foster mom has a doggie door and does not crate him.

Would not recommend a home with small children or small dogs simply due to his size.     We were told that he preferred women to men, but after initially barking at men, he will settle down quickly and has no problem with them petting him and of course handing out treats.     He walks well on a leash, and no problems with car trips.     He minds well when you get his attention, but because of his age, he has to be redirected to appropriate behavior often.   (Wanting to continuously play/rough house when the other dogs don’t want to play).

We got him out of the shelter in Louisiana after a person rehomed him, and those people left him at the shelter. He has been moved around quite a bit in the last few months and he didn’t have a good start originally in his life. He is fostered in Texarkana, Texas.
